The Infinite ROI of Energy

Twenty years as an investor taught me the best investment I ever made wasn't a deal.

There was a time in my life when I was always exhausted.

Single mom. Small kids. A big job at Goldman Sachs.

And the most important realization of my career had nothing to do with markets:

You must protect your energy.

Without energy, you're not good at your job.

Without energy, you're not the mother you want to be.

Without energy, you lose your joy.

Without energy, you cannot sustain a high-performing life.

Let's be honest: if you're a woman with a demanding career and small children, there is no version of your life that isn't full.

That part doesn't change.

What changes everything is whether you fuel it.

Strategies help. Mindset helps. But energy is the foundation everything else stands on.

So I made two things non-negotiable:

Meditation and yoga, first thing every morning. Protected, no matter what. And training hard at least twice per week.

Even when — especially when — there's a perfectly good excuse not to.

Because here's what 20 years as an investor taught me:

The best investment I ever made wasn't a deal.

It was creating the circumstances that keep my energy high.

I created space in my house to train.

I hired a personal trainer.

It cost money, and it cost time.

And it multiplied everything:

The years I could perform at the highest level.

What I could earn.

The joy in my body.

The presence I could give my children.

The ROI on energy is infinite.

So protect yours like your career depends on it.

Because it does.
